With two and half weeks until Ontario’s election day, the four main party leaders debate the issues on television Monday evening.
This is actually their second debate, following one earlier in the month when they debated issues related to northern Ontario.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath points out politicians can get stuck on their performance and forget that they are there for the people.
“And it shouldn’t be about Doug Ford or about Steven Del Duca or about Mike Schreiner or about Andrea Horwath. It should be about the people of Ontario and giving them some hope that they can have a government that’s going to fix the things that are broken and take care of the things that matter most to everyday people,” Horwath explained on the weekend.
There will be a couple of election related announcements early in the day Monday before the leaders each hunker down to review their notes ahead of tonight’s debate.
Liberal Leader Steven Del Duca is set to make an announcement on the cost of living while here in Toronto Monday morning at 9.
Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner is scheduled to take part in a local housing panel and debate first thing Monday in Guelph.
Andrea Horwath is making an appearance at NDP Headquarters in Toronto at 9am.
Doug Ford is not scheduled for any announcements or appearances before the debate which begins at 6:30 this evening.
