The city of Toronto emergency declaration in response to the pandemic is over.
”The city had been operating under this emergency declaration for 777 days. It came into effect March 23, 2020. The declaration signalled our intent to fight COVID-19 with everything we had,” explained Mayor John Tory.
”And now two years, one month and 17 days later and more than 7-million doses of vaccine later, there is no doubt that our collective efforts have been successful in getting us to a better place.”
But while no longer operating under the declaration of emergency, the mayor adds the city’s work to help people get vaccinated and to lead the economic recovery continue.
