He was a one hit wonder with a song from 1973 that could just as well fit today’s situation.

Timothy Thomas, an American R&B singer, keyboardist, songwriter and record producer, was best known for the hit song, “Why Can’t We Live Together.”

It contained the lyrics:

“No more wars, no more wars, no more war, just a little peace in this world,
No more wars, no more war, all we want is some peace in this world.”

It was a song protesting the U.S. war in Viet Nam, but could just have been written about Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine.

The song rose to the top of the Billboard charts almost 50-years ago but Thomas could never repeat its popularity

Timothy Thomas has died of cancer at the age of  77.
