Ontario residents are being told by the province’s chief medical officer that we have to learn to live with COVID-19.
Dr. Kieran Moore explained during a Thursday briefing, that we’ve learned from the Omicron variant, that we cannot eliminate this threat, but instead, reduce our risk of catching it as part of a balanced approach as a society against this threat.
Dr. Moore also admits that over the past two years, there were times that we were too cautious.
“It’ll never be exactly right for everybody. It’s healthy to have debate, but we do have to have a balanced response to this virus and learn to live with it,” Dr. Moore continued.
He made the comments after announcing the Ontario government will allow some medical procedures to resume as public health restrictions begin loosening on Monday.
In addition, Dr. Moore says most businesses no longer need to collect information for contact tracing and people will no longer be legally obligated to work from home.
