Ontario is reporting 16 more deaths from COVID-19 Sunday and an increased in the number of hospitalized patients.
Public Health Ontario says there are 16,714 new cases of the virus. That’s fewer than Saturday, when more than 18,000 cases were reported. It’s still one of the highest daily reports in the pandemic so far.
Public Health Ontario warns this is likely an underestimate due to the province’s limited testing capacity.
The province has not released how many tests were performed in the latest update.
The Ontario Hospital Association says there are now 218 patients in ICUs in the province. That’s 34 more than their previous update.
