Canada’s largest airline says the vast majority of their employees have been twice vaccinated against COVID-19 in alignment with new federal transportation rules.
CEO Michael Rousseau says 96% of the company’s 27,000 employees have gotten vaccinated. That leaves 800 who haven’t and that means they have been suspended.
Those employees who haven’t gotten fully vaccinate, haven’t divulged their status or provided a sufficient exemption have been placed on unpaid leave.
The new federal policy went into effect on October 30 where all passengers and workers on federally regulated transportation much be vaccinated.
The policy applies to planes and trains.
