"THE PEOPLES COURT" CREATOR DIES AT 85

Zoomers of a certain vintage will remember the early 1980s and welcoming Judge Joseph Wapner into their homes on “The People’s Court.”

The show’s creator, Stu Billett, has died after a long and successful career.

Billett started out as an assistant producer on “Who Do You Trust,” hosted by Johnny Carson in the late 1950s.

He went on to create and produce the game show “One in a Million,” for Merv Griffin.

He launched “The People’s Court in 1981.  The original series ran until 1993 and scored four daytime Emmys.

Stu Billett was 85
