U.K.-based Canadian scholar Rebecca Clifford is among three finalists in the running for the $75,000 Cundill History Prize.
Clifford is a professor of European history at Swansea University in Wales.
She grew up in Kingston, attended Queens, McGill and the University of Toronto, before receiving her doctorate at Oxford.
She’s nominated for “Survivors; Children’s Lives after the Holocaust.” It draws from archives and interviews in tracing the lives of child Holocaust survivors from the end of the Second World War to the present day.
The Cundill is administered by McGill University. It is open to books from anywhere in the world, as long as they are available in English.
The winner will be announced December 2nd.
