For the first time in almost 60-years, “Funny Girl” will be back on Broadway.

Barbra Streisand originated the role of Fanny Brice which helped make her a star.

The revival of the 1964 musical is expected in the spring and while no start date has been specified officially, a casting call gives April 2, 2022 as the date of the first performance.

The musical charts the rise of the self-deprecating comedian and actress Fanny Brice and her relationship with the professional gambler Nick Arnstein.

The original production was nominated for eight Tony Awards, including best musical.
