The Zoomers’ advocacy group CARP considers it a no brainer.
”We all know that to protect our loved ones in long-term care we have to keep COVID out of long-term care.”
The view of Bill VanGorder, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Policy Officer of CARP on Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with guest host Jane Brown, who asked if mandatory vaccination for health care workers will be accepted by the Ford government.
”It has to ultimately be accepted.  There’s almost no one, other than government, who’s involved in the (long-term care) industry, is saying that isn’t the ideal,” VanGorder told the show.

CARP’s Chief Marketing Officer David Cravit told ”Fight Back” it’s ”crazy not to require” vaccination of health care workers, calling it a ”perfectly reasonable requirement.”

But Doug Ford remains adamant.

”I just don’t believe in forcing anyone to get a vaccination that doesn’t want it,” the premier said.

”I’m up here literally preaching, begging, pleading every single day since the beginning of this pandemic, and especially since we have these vaccinations.  So folks, if you’re in the health care industry, please just go and get a vaccination.”

Meanwhile, nearly 60 medical groups in the U.S. are calling for this.

In a statement, the American Medical Association, American Nurses Association and others, agree it’s ”the logical fulfillment of the ethical commitment of all healthcare workers to put patients as well as residents of long-term care facilities first and take all steps necessary to ensure their health and well-being.”
