Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is leaving the country for the first time in more than a year.
He’s headed on a European trip that includes stops in the U.K. for the G-7 summit and Belgium where he’ll meet with his fellow NATO leaders.
G-7 leaders will discuss continued efforts in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and how countries can best recovery from the economic shock it caused. Climate change and current international conflicts will also be major topics of discussion.
U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked his fellow leaders to come with ideas to help end the pandemic around the world. That includes ways wealthier countries can donate COVID-19 vaccine doses to poorer ones.
