Justin Trudeau, who recently got an AstraZeneca shot, is repeating to get the first vaccine that’s offered to you.
”All vaccines in Canada have been approved by Health Canada. Our advice to provinces and territories and to Canadians has not changed,” said the prime minister.
”Make sure you get your shot as soon as it’s your turn.”
Trudeau’s message comes after the latest controversial guidance from the National Advisory Committee on Immunization.
NACI says the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are ”preferred” and Canadians should weigh the risks of waiting for one of them, or getting a shot of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has been linked to rare blood clots.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Pharmacists Association says NACI’s advice is not helpful and likely to make it harder to get enough Canadians inoculated to end COVID-19.
