Police in Boston say they’ve cracked a ten year old cold case involving a missing $13,000 flute and say they’re thrilled and “trilled.”

The flute was reported missing in 2012 after its owner left it in a taxi cab.  A couple of months ago a worker at a Boston music store gave police call saying someone had shown up with an expensive flute asking about its value.

The employee passed on the person’s contact information and earlier this month police tracked him down.  He claimed he bought the instrument from an unknown person.  However, the sharp minds at the Boston PD soon realized the man they were talking to was the driver of the taxi when the flute when missing.

He’s to appear in court later this month.
