An encouraging COVID report from Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer on Thursday.

“While overall our numbers are staying down below 1,000 these past few days, my guess is they’ll rise up a little bit as our volumes go up in the next two days and this may be reassuring as our percent positivity of the so called older form of COVID-19 cases wane, but the VO’s or variants of concern are rising.” said Dr. David Williams.

He’s advising those who’ve been infected with COVID to wait at least three months before getting inocculated.

And with increased vaccine supply, the province is planning how to get the vaccine to older people who receive homecare.

Dr. Williams will present his final recommendations to cabinet Friday on where to move Toronto and Peel Region on the colour-coded restrictions framework.

“We want to be cautious at this time, so we’ve made some recommendations and I’ve heard their comments back, we’ve already given some early information to the cabinet and the final data points to cabinet tomorrow morning.”

The top doctors in both those regions are requesting to be placed in GREY-lockdown. The final decision will be announced Friday afternoon.
