Bette Midler is using words and pictures to tell a New York story of a famous duck.

The-74-year-old singer, actress and  author says was inspired by the real life story of a duck visiting Central park in 2018 that enchanted all of New City. The celebrity duck that was featured in the New York Times and other publications across the world delighted not only bird watchers but visitors of all kinds.

Her new picture book for young readers “The Tale of the Mandarin Duck” will be published in February.

Midler wants readers to know that the natural world is full of creatures just like him, if we only take the time to raise our eyes and look.
