Air Canada is revising its cancellation policy amid growing customer frustration.
It does not include returning money due to flights cancelled because of COVID-19. Instead, Air Canada will offer travellers the option of a voucher with no expiry date or discount Aeroplan points if the airline cancels their flight due to the pandemic. The company says the new policy applies to non-refundable tickets issued up to the end of June with an original travel date between March and June. None of Canada’s airlines is offering to return cash to passengers. On Friday, Air Canada also said it will increase its summer schedule, which remains more than 50 per cent less than last year as the pandemic continues to pound the airline industry.
