“The peak is likely going to happen this week.” That word today from Ontario Associate Medical Officer of Health Dr. Barbara Yaffe who echoed Premier Doug Ford’s comments about a “glimmer of light” after seeing the latest figures.
Dr. Yaffe says she’s hopeful but with an abundance of caution and is urging continued physical distancing and other measures. But she adds generally each day the numbers are going down.
Meantime, the Ontario legislature resumes tomorrow when MPP’s will likely vote to extend the state of emergency for another 28 days. But Premier Doug Ford says it’s too early to say if the entire school year will be suspended. Currently, schools are set to resume May 4th.
