IF YOU'RE OUT OF COUNTRY FOR MARCH BREAK, HEALTH OFFICIALS WITH ADVICE

Daycare centres inside public schools within the Toronto District School board will be closed for the next three weeks and will re-open April 6th.

That’s the same period all public elementary and high schools in the province will close to help prevent the spread of COVID -19. T-D-S-B spokesperson Ryan Bird admits it presents a real challenge for parents but they had no choice based on the advice of health officials.

Meantime, heads up for Toronto residents who didn’t heed warnings against non-essential travel and left  Canada for the March break including to the U-S. They’re being told to avoid public gatherings and visits with seniors when they return home. Medical officer of Health Dr. Eileen Devilla says travellers need to be vigilant and urges self-monitoring for symptoms for 14 days after travel. Toronto has activated its emergency operation centre amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
