The hate crimes unit of the New York City Police Department is investigating after a poster of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was defaced with a swastika and an anti-Semitic insult. Subway officials say defaced poster that advertises a book about Ginsburg has been removed. Police say hate crimes are up 81 percent in New York City and about two-thirds target the city’s Jewish community. The 85-year-old Ginsburg is back to work after undergoing surgery for lung cancer late last year.
