Ontario’s social services minister who’s under fire over changes to autism funding is now travelling with an OPP detail following alleged threats. Lisa MacLeod was speaking at an International Women’s Day event in Ottawa Friday when police decided she should leave immediately following her remarks. MacLeod’s office says previous threats including ones on her life came through social media and by phone to her constituency office. Ottawa police have charged a 41-year-old woman with criminal harassment and three counts of uttering threats. MacLeod did not attend a large protest over the autism program at the legislature Thursday citing personal safety concerns.
