It was a dangerous Thursday for pedestrians on Toronto streets. Paramedics responded to at least 17 accidents involving pedestrians after dark. In one case, a man in his 80’s is in life threatening condition in hospital after being hit at Kipling and Annabelle just north of Finch. He was one of four struck on Kipling alone yesterday. The accidents comes the same week the city re-launched Vision Zero with a new focus in the campaign. Toronto police constable Brett Moore told Zoomer Radio’s Fight Back with guest host Jane Brown the powerful public awareness campaign involves five installations highlighting deadly crash scenes. Also last night, a woman in her 40’s is dead after the taxi she was in crashed into several vehicles including a TTC bus. The driver of the CITY cab was also injured and is now cooperating with police. The accident shut down Lawrence Ave and Avenue road for last nights investigation.
