Canadians convicted under old laws against homosexuality are apparently not taking the government up on its offer to erase their criminal records. There are 9,000 convictions filed for offences that include gross indecency. Four months ago, people with criminal records for consensual same sex acts could apply to have their records expunged but so far, only seven have filed requests. The man who lobbied for the new program. Sociology Professor Gary Kinsman, blames the low number on a lack of awareness.Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made a historic apology to the L-G-B-T community this year.
