As Canadian Zoomers make the annual pilgrimage to the sunny south, there’s a warning about Hurricane Michael. The storm has picked up strength off the western tip of Cuba and expected to hit Florida’s northeast Gulf Coast Wednesday. Florida Governor Rick Scott is sending a warning to residents and visitors. He calls it a “monstrous” storm and the forecast is getting more dangerous. Scott has asked U-S President Donald Trump to issue a pre-landfall disaster declaration to bring in more federal resources. Fueled by warm tropical waters, winds from Michael could top 180 kilometres per hour before its anticipated landfall.
