The province will provide equipment needed to winterize a pop-up supervised injection facility at Toronto’s Moss Park. Ontario Minister of Health Eric Hoskins confirmed his government will provide a tent system with power and heating that will allow the site to continue operating in cold weather. The unsanctioned site is technically Illegal and Councillor Joe Cressy, who leads the city’s drug strategy, says if the Federal law isn’t changed, then partners at the provincial and municipal levelS have an ethical obligation to ignore it. Front line harm reduction workers say they’ve reversed over 85 overdoses since the site opened in mid-August.
