Doug Ford has made it official.

The former Toronto City Councillor and mayoral candidate, announced Friday night that he’s going to run for mayor again in the 2018 election.

Ford made the announcement to a cheering crowd of the faithful at his family’s annual Ford Fest barbecue at their Etobicoke home.

He says he’s going after the city’s top job so that he can continue his late brother’s legacy.

Rob Ford, who talked constantly about saving every possible dollar for Toronto taxpayers, withdrew from his 2014 re-election campaign after the discovery of a tumour in his abdomen. He died almost two years later.

Doug Ford resigned from council to run for mayor, but lost to John Tory.

He says if elected mayor of Toronto, his number one job will be to save taxpayers money.
