U.S. President Donald Trump says that during the 2016 election campaign former President Barack Obama had a wiretap put on Trump’s phones in the Trump Tower.

Trump made the accusation in a series of Tweets Saturday.

He says he just found out “Obama had my wires tapped in Trump Tower.”

Trump has not provided any evidence to support his claim, or any reason why a wiretap would have been placed on his phone lines.

A spokesman for Barack Obama denies President Trump’s claim.

In a statement, Kevin Lewis says, “Neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”
