The United Nations Security Council called an emergency meeting Sunday after North Korea launched a rocket it says is part of its peaceful space program.
But the U.S. and South Korea say it was a violation of a banned test of a ballistic missile.
There’s a fear in the west that the reclusive state was testing a rocket that could carry a nuclear warhead to North America.
The UN Security Council issued a statement that strongly condems the launch and promises significant new sanctions.
It says the rocket launch violates four Security Council resolutions
