Although there is no specific proof that an affiliate of the Islamic State terrorist group brought down the Russian passenger jet in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula, Air France, Lufthansa and Emirates, the biggest carrier in the Middle East, aren’t taking any chances.

As a precaution they’ll be avoiding the airspace over Sinai until there is more information as to the cause of Saturday’s crash that took the lives of all 224 passengers and crew.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the crash, but experts says the terrorists do not have a weapon capable of shooting down an aircraft travelling at 31-thousand feet.

The Metrojet charter was just 23 minutes into its flight to St. Petersburg, Russia from the Egyptian resort area of Sharm el-Sheik when it crashed.

The pilot had radioed that they were experiencing a techinal problem.
