HISTORY-MAKING "LES MISERABLES" ACTOR DIES IN NEW YORK FALL

The youngest person ever to play the role of Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables” on Broadway has died after falling from a fire escape.

Twenty-one year-old Kyle Jean-Baptiste was also the first African-American to play the role.

He died late Friday night following the evening performance of “Les Miserables” at New York’s Imperial Theatre.

Jean-Baptisre was one of the show’s ensemble members and was an understudy for the role of Valjean. His history-making debut in the role was on July 23rd.

His last performance as Jean Valjean was Thursday.
