The Toronto Maple Leafs used their fourth overall pick in the NHL Draft to select Mitch Marner of the London Knights.

He’s a 5-foot-11 forward from Markham who had 126 points in 63 games; good enough for second in the Ontario Hockey League last season behind Dylan Strome.

Strome was selected third overall by the Phoenix Coyotes.

As expected Newmarket’s Connor McDavid was picked first overall by the Edmonton Oilers, and American Jack Eichel went second to the Buffalo Sabres.
