The Garden Club of Toronto, along with the City of Toronto will officially open the June Callwood Park Saturday evening.
Named after the prolific author, journalist and social activist, the 2.6 million dollar park features a reflecting pool, a hedge maze, granite mulch, and rubberized surfacing.
June Callwood Park is located at 636 Fleet Street, just south of Fort York Boulevard, and the official opening ceremony gets underway at 7:00 p.m. The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting, speeches, and performances by Shadowlands.
Callwood died in 2007 at the age of 83.
Organizers encourage people wishing to attend the event Saturday night to use public transit, since parking will be limited, with many streets closed because of Nuit Blanche.
