Exercise could be better than plastic surgery as a way to obtain younger looking skin.
That’s the conclusion researchers came to in a McMaster University study that found the appearance of aging seemed to reverse in active people. And their skin was also stronger below the surface.
Researchers say higher levels of the substance myokine showed up in the skin of active people. Myokines are small proteins, secreted by active muscles, which enter the bloodstream and cause changes in cells.
