A member of the legendary Everly Brothers has passed away.

Phil Everly died Friday of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at a hospital in Burbank, California.  He was 74.

Phil Everly and his older brother Don were pioneers of rock and roll with their high harmony duo in the late 50’s and the 60’s.

At one time The Beatles referred to themselves as “the English Everly Brothers”, and Bob Dylan said “We owe these guys everything.  They started it all”.

Among the many hits by the Everly Brothers were “Bye Bye Love”,  “Wake Up Little Susie” and “All I have To Do Is Dream”.
