An agreement was reached Sunday between Syria and the United Nations to allow experts to visit the site of last week’s alleged use of chemical weapons near Damascus.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem and UN disarmament chief Angela Kane struck the deal during talks in Damascus, and that the two sides are working to finalize the date and time of the visit.
A team of UN experts already in Syria will focus on investigating the purported attack on Wednesday.
In a statement, U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky says the mission “is preparing to conduct on-site fact-finding activities'” on Monday,
