Toronto Mayor Rob Ford had a rude welcome to a street festival Saturday when someone threw a drink at him.
The mayor was visiting the Taste of Little Italy near College and Crawford Streets with his entourage and a large group of people following him when, according to one witness, a woman threw juice in his face.
The woman ran, but paid-duty police officers already in the area were able to stop and question her.
Twenty-seven year old Shannon Everett has been charged with assault and will appear in court July 23rd.
Witnesses say Mayor Ford handled the incident well. There were no injuries.
