Ahead of a Supreme Court of Canada hearing on the laws restricting the sale of sex, sex workers and supporters rallied in Toronto and other Canadian cities to demand the decriminalization of prostitution.

The high court is to decide whether the laws that restrict the sale of sex should be tossed.

Although prostitution isn’t illegal in Canada, many activities that surround it are outlawed.

Nearly two dozen intervener groups have been granted status to argue for and against the sex laws before the high court judges on Thursday
