CANCER SURVIVOR DAN HILL SINGS TO HELP THE CAUSE

Toronto-born Zoomer, singer-songwriter Dan Hill played a mini-concert on Friday at a centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland for patients receiving cancer treatment

Daffodil Place  provides out-of-town patients with somewhere to stay while they receive their treatments in the city.

The 58-year-old Hill was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2011, and has since beaten the disease.

Hill was in St. John’s to headline a benefit concert for prostate cancer Friday night .  

Since his recovery, Hill has participated in an ad campaign with Prostate Cancer Canada, urging men to speak to their doctors about cancer and have their prostates checked.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men, according to Prostate Cancer Canada.
