The possible sale of a Toronto post office has some folks lathered up.
Canada Post is considering selling Postal Station K, on Yonge Street north of Eglinton Avenue, but protestors who rallied there Saturday don’t want the site turned into another condo development.
They point out that a tavern that once sat on the same spot was the launching point of the Upper Canada Rebellion in 1837.
The post office is also one of the only buildings in the British Empire to bear the insignia of King Edward the Eighth who gave up the throne in 1936 after a brief reign.
