Meet Ladybird, a beautiful 1-year-old female husky/shepherd mix with striking silver eyes and a tan and black coat, currently available for adoption.
Ladybird is friendly, has tons of energy, is smart, desires companionship and can sometimes show signs of stress and anxiety. While she has not been officially diagnosed, she appears to have separation type anxiety and displays anxious behaviours when left alone. Ladybird may sometimes chew on items to cope with being left alone for longer periods of time.
With patience and understanding, she is making great progress in learning loose leash walking, showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to please.
Ladybird is currently on some medication to reduce her anxiety, is going through training and is doing the best she can to improve. A combination of patience, experience with dogs, offering mental stimulation, physical stimulation and ongoing training would really help support Ladybird. She just wants to be able to count on someone.
She is an active pooch and enjoys running off some energy! She would be a great hiking companion and running buddy! Once tuckered out, you can relax on the couch together.
If you’re interested in giving Ladybird the loving home he deserves, don’t hesitate to visit Toronto Humane Society at 11 River Street to start the application process today!
