Meet Goldie – a 5-year-old, sweet, smart, and affectionate Shepherd mix looking for her forever home.

Goldie is a gorgeous gal who likes to have serious fun! Chasing balls, walking in the woods, swimming in streams – this dog is up for it all. Whatever you enjoy doing outside, Goldie will be right by your side!

Much as she loves her outdoor “sports,” Goldie also excels at being a couch potato. She loves snuggling at home with her foster parents, snoozing for hours on her own (with her favourite orange ball nearby), or soaking up the sun on the porch. She’s an easy house companion. She likes to be where everyone else is – so if you’re watching TV, she’s on the couch next to you, if you’re cooking dinner, she’s lying on the floor in the kitchen, and if you’re using the bathroom, she’s standing guard outside of your door. She doesn’t like to be left alone, or in a closed room, when you are home. 

If you’re not home, she’s happy to do her own thing and keep herself occupied until you come back. You’ll be greeted with happy tail wags, lots of kisses and affection.

 

 

Goldie’s become a more relaxed dog over time. She was unsure of strangers and other dogs when she initially came to her foster home, but she has made huge breakthroughs in learning to trust others. Every new person who comes to the house is now a bestie and she’s even gotten friendly with folks she encounters on her walks. She used to holler at dogs non-stop, but she’s improved that immensely by being provided with patience, dedication, and lots of love. Such a transformation and all because she was given the time and chance to learn that there is another, happier way to be. That being said, she would prefer to be the only animal in her forever home. 

This trust and training will be an important support for Goldie as she transitions into her forever home. Busy neighbourhoods push her buttons so she’s looking for a house with a large, fenced yard in a quiet suburb or beyond. Most of all, this wonderful dog wants to spend her days with people who understand where she’s been and where she’s going, and who see, without a doubt, that her heart is pure Goldie.
