Academy Award winning Croatian film producer and Holocaust survivor Branko Lustig has died.
He won Oscars for producing films like Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator” and Stephen Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List.”
Lustig was born in the eastern part of Croatia which was part of Yugoslavia at the time.
He was imprisoned at Auschwitz and later Bergen-Belsen. Most members of his family were killed.
The Yad Vashem centre in Jerusalem reports that Lustig died in the Croatian capital of Zagreb.
No other details were released.
He was 87.
