The federal government claims the Conservative motion calling for an investigation of the Trudeau Liberals COVID-19 response would jeopardize supply of PPE, rapid tests and vaccines.
”This is not the time for this motion to be passed,” warned Procurement Minister Anita Anand.
”This is not the time to threaten and weaken our relationships with our suppliers, on whom Canadians’ health and safety depends.
Anand, experts and industry say the motion, if passed, could cause sensitive corporate information to be inadvertently released.
But Tory health critic Michelle Rempel Garner counters the government is ”fearmongering,” and accuses the government of trying to trigger an election, even though the Liberals say they are not treating this motion as a confidence matter.
