This Week on Vintage Favourites – May 15th

Hi, I’m Gene Stevens with a look ahead to our next ‘Vintage Favourites’.

It’s the ‘vintage year – 1943′ – the second world war is part of everyday life from dramatic battle news in Russia, North Africa and The Pacific, to war-rationing at home, patriotic movies, cancellation of most international sports events, the development of penicillin, and the first super-computer.

The musicians’ strike changes the sound of pop music, Sinatra goes solo, and Dooley Wilson ‘plays it again’ in the ‘vintage year 1943’. Plus – a celebration of Montreal recording artists over the years.

It’s all on the next ‘Vintage Favourites’ this Sunday at 2, from Zoomer Radio.
