The Bayreuth Festival in Germany has decided to retain Katharina Wagner as its director for another five years.
The 45-year old is the great-granddaughter of Richard Wagner.
She became co-head of the festival in 2008 and then took over as sole director in 2015.
The festival was launched by Richard Wagner in 1876
and is devoted to his composer’s last 10 operas.
This year’s festival runs from July 25 to Aug. 27.
