Five days before Torontonians elect their next mayor, the man whose resignation earlier this year triggered the by-election is endorsing one of the leading candidates.
Ana Bailao.
No surprise given she was one of John Tory’s deputy mayors.
His video endorsement was released on her Twitter account @anabailoTO.
Parts of Tory’s 6-minute, 23-paragraph statement reads ”I know a lot about this job and what it takes to be successful.”
”Mayors of Toronto can’t pick fights they don’t know how to win. You have to be pragmatic. You have to be able to move projects forward, day by day, month by month. You have to work with other governments … You have to be able to get City Council to work together.”
”I believe there is one candidate in this race who is best equipped to do all that … Her name is Ana Bailao.”
Deputy Mayor Jennifer McKelvie recently endorsed Bailao as well.
