In London, two climate protesters today threw cans of tomato soup over Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” in London’s National Gallery.  The pair were protesting fossil fuel extraction.

According to the Gallery, the attack caused no damage to the painting, which was covered in glass.

The protest from Just Stop Oil,  wants the British government to halt new oil and gas projects.

Police in London have arrested two people on suspicion of criminal damage and aggravated trespass.

The group has drawn attention, and criticism, for targeting artworks in museums.
