Hamilton-born Broadway star Nick Cordero has lost his battle with COVID-19.
The Ryerson-trained singer, dancer and actor fell ill March 20th and fought the virus in a Los Angeles hospital after initially being diagnosed as having pneumonia.
He was kept alive with extensive treatment, including the use of a ventilator, dialysis and a specialized heart-lung bypass machine. He also endured a leg amputation and a tracheotomy.
He is survived by his wife Amanda Kloots and a one year old son named Elvis.
Cordero was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in Bullets Over Broadway in 2014.
Nick Cordero was 41.
