One of the world’s richest women, stands to lose more than a few pounds after Weight Watches reported it hadn’t signed up as many subscribers this winter and expects its profits to suffer.

Oprah Winfrey is not only heavily invested in the company she’s a client and credits the program with helping her lose weight.

Weight Watchers’ stock tumbled more than 30 per cent in after-hours trading Tuesday night. If that carries over through Wednesday, the 65-year old former talk show host stands to take a paper loss of about $50 million.

The New York-based weight-loss program says it expects to earn between $1.25 and $1.50 per share this year. Analysts had been expecting more than $3.00 per share.
