While Sting has enjoyed a long and successful career, he can relate to what is going on in Oshawa. In town to offer a free performance of his new musical “The Last Ship”, to GM workers, Sting performed songs from the musical as well as a couple of hits from The Police. He also offered his support and encouragement to the many who face losing their jobs at the end of 2019. “It should be a mutual support system, It’s about loyalty”, the 67 year-old said.

Sting wrote the music and lyrics for “The Last Ship”, which  tells the real life story his own experiences growing up in an English shipbuilding town, stricken by the collapse of its main industry.

Listen to Christine Ross’ report from Oshawa.
