The Trudeau government’s plan to launch legal marijuana –  may be hitting some turbulence.

A committee comprised of federally-regulated employers, labour groups and federal officials – can’t come to an agreement on how – and when – to test for impairment on the job.

While it isn’t completely rejecting the idea – the government isn’t agreeing to random drug tests at this point.

Even as far back as the late 1980’s – successive Canadian governments have tried to steer clear of the issue.

The committee’s impasse may mean that no new federal rules on workplace impairment will be in place – before pot becomes legal later this year.
